the bluebird

When God had made a host of them

One little flower still lacked a stem

To hold it's blossom blue;

So into it he breathed  a song,

And suddenly, with petals strong

As wings, away it flew.

Emily Dickinson

  1. A sonet in the morning, thank you!
    Hope your move will be an easy one. You will love BR. Just like everywhere here, traffic is a nightmare, but Baton Rouge is a big old college town and quite quaint. Good luck in your transition and let me know if you might need any info on South Louisiana!
    Wishing you the best,

  2. Cute one. It sounds good to me, the way a bluebird was created. Helen

    What a beautiful little poem, and such a lovely thought, a tiny bluebird discovering his wings and his voice !

  4. Paints such a wonderfilled picture in your mind.  I love bluebirds.  We have been blessed to have a family of them here three years in a row now.  -  Barbara
